Last nite.....

So, after getting home last night, Serenity drank a whole sippy cup of chocolate milk and ate some spaghetti (her fav). I let her play for a bit. She started getting fussy and rubbing her eyes so I went ahead and put her to bed. She fell asleep quickly. It didn't last long though. I dont know if she was having night terrors, a tummy ache, or what was wrong. I don't think it was night terrors cuz she wasn't screaming. Just a little crying. She would cry for about 5 to 10 mins and fall back asleep. What was so bad, she was waking up every 30-45 mins. I would check on her and she would just look at me while crying. Kinda hard to deal with. When I reached for her she would turn away, indicating that she didn't want to be cuddled. I offered her drinks(milk, chocolate milk, apple juice, water). She turned away. I offered her a snack, maybe she was still hungry. She turned that away also. I wondered if maybe she just had gas.
When I got her up this morning she was in a better mood. The only thing I noticed that I didn't like was that somehow she managed to get her diaper off. I don't know how but she did. Guess she wanted to try to be a big girl last night. Her bed wasn't wet or anything but I'm still gonna wash everything just to make sure. And I'm thinking I need to take her to see either her pediatrician, her orthopedic surgeon, or the people that made her leg braces....

  1. I saw you are following my blog and came here to check yours.
It's so brave what you do. A lot of people can't hangde what you are. I hope it was just a bad night, not anything serious. Good luck with everything with your baby daughter!

  2. Thank you!! I thought it would be a good way to help people to understand. Also, to possibly help others who are going thru the same.

  3. It does help. Before I've started giving some help and support to the sick kids organizations (you would be surprized but the kids I've helped are mostly with Celebral Palsy) I thought Celebral Palsy is much more rare thing. I'm sorry I was wrong. in fact, I don't undrestand what it is for. why good people like you have their kids with sicknesses and due to the sickness probably wouldn't have more kids and the people who don't care, who has much worse hearts have healthy kids and have more and more kids. Not fair. Sorry for such a long answer, it's just the thoughs I can't handle.

  4. It's not so rare anymore. A lot of times its caused by the DR or hospital during delivery. I also found out that it can happen to anyone, young and old, by severe head trauma. There's just so many things that can cause it. Some people automatically assume that when a child is born with Cerebral Palsy, it's the parents fault. Something the parent did or didn't do. In some cases, that may be true, but not in all cases. A part of me does worry about having another child. but at the same time, I know I did nothing to cause it. So that helps. And, there are so many different stages of Cerebral Palsy. Some people that have it, you would never know. Others, it's more obvious. Never feel sorry for any assumptions, right or wrong. The best way to learn more about it is to ask questions or do research. As I've stated in a previous post, I've been asked just about every question imagimable about my daughter and why she has it. I know I can't speak for every parent that has a child with C.P. but I can share on what I know based on my experiences.
